Tampa, FL is home to a population of 361,477 residents and is considered the central hub of the metro area known as Tampa Bay. Only a few miles from the Gulf of Mexico, the Tampa climate is seen as one of the most popular in the entire country.

While it has a humid subtropical climate, Tampa often experiences weather that is also associated with a tropical climate. Summers are hot and humid with a lot of thunderstorms, while winters tend to be cool and dry. It is also vulnerable to hurricane season which lasts from the beginning of June through the end of November every year.

You’ll quickly find that seasons in the Tampa climate aren’t the standard four you may have come to expect in other parts of the country. With its subtropical weather, Tampa offers unique elements that are fairly consistent throughout the entire year.

In fact, most people associate Tampa with a wet season and a dry season. The wet season goes from May through October and the dry season is November through April.  Of course, most of the tropical systems happen in the wet season.
