In the spirit of the holidays, 2 College Brothers, a student-run Gainesville moving company, held a campus-wide toy drive at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fl. However, this wasn’t your typical toy drive; it was in the form of a contest between sixteen Greek sororities. Of course, every contest involves a prize. 2 College Brothers offered the winners a free move-out of their entire sorority house, valued at over $4,250, as a prize for collecting the most toys amongst all sororities.
After ten days of collection, Zeta Tau Alpha pulled through with the most toys granting them a free move-out of their sorority house at the end of the Spring 2012 semester. Second place: Alpha Delta Pi. Moving out a house of 50 girls might seem tedious, but I don’t think our Gainesville movers will mind.
The contest resulted in so many toys all of which were donated to the Children’s Home Society. 2 College Brothers wanted to add a personal touch to end the toy drive. Some of our team members hand-delivered a box of toys to a family in the Gainesville area. The kids were ecstatic! See the toy drive video above.
